This is a brand-new, not a remanufactured part, and a core is not required. Pulley included.

The alternator is not designed for a rear aluminum snorkel cover.

 Remember: your beloved G-Class is at least 40 years old, and the alternator most likely has been replaced from the original unit.
Please pay attention to the wire connections on the back of your existing alternator, and there are only two choices:
Two studs with thick red and slim blue wire or a plastic plug with two thick red wires and one small blue wire.
So, choose the correct alternator as your replacement.
